Sibu International Dance Festival (SIDF) was first initiated and organized by the Hornland Dance Theatre in Sibu, Malaysia. In year 2012, it launched its first debut concert with the acknowledgement and support of the Sibu Municipal Council, Malaysia. It aims to hold as an annual event in mid-term school holiday of the second half semester of Malaysia in the largest town in the central zone of Sarawak, Sibu, which is located next to the Rejang River, the longest river in South-east Asia.

The 6th edition of SIDF will be held in August 29 to September 2 in 2017. The festival is opened to all kinds of dance, traditional or modern, for all age groups and of all races and cultures, both locally and internationally.
The activities of the festival extend from indoor stages to outdoor stages, and even into the corners of the streets. This is hoped to draw and encourage more people to join the festival and be involved more directly and personally with the performers.

SIDF also aims to become the world platform for the artists and arts organization on local, regional and international levels to exchange dialogs, concepts, experiments, explorations and displaying the diversity of dances, and of course, to facilitate the development of tourism, art and culture in this region through this event.
